From August 14 to 25, the TOP Computer Academy held a special shift of the summer camp — “Cyber. NET 2.0 — data protection and cybersecurity.” The training of a group of schoolchildren was organized by the Indid Company, which actively supports educational initiatives and promotes awareness in the field of cybersecurity.

In the era of rapidly developing information technologies, cybersecurity is becoming an integral part of our daily lives. Children are our future, which is why Indid Company supports educational initiatives aimed at teaching schoolchildren the theoretical and practical foundations and principles of ensuring security in the digital space.

Education as an investment in the future

During the two-week shift, the students underwent intensive training, including lectures, practical classes and creating their own projects. They studied:

Basic concepts of cybersecurity and working with file
systems.
Python programming language. Several active students even started combining code written in Python and code in Batch, which they learned in the first days of the shift.
Basics of creating a neural network and a basic version of a chatbot.
Putting knowledge into practice

As part of a practical study of computer security, students wrote a keylogger. They learned how it can be useful to an intruder and how to protect your computer from such attacks.

They also created a cybersecurity chatbot using the Python programming language. This resulted in a basic version of the chatbot that listens to the chat, understands what is being written to it, and responds to messages and questions.

The guys are great! They were passionate about the process, worked actively, and completed all the tasks quickly and efficiently.

The summer camp program was organized taking into account the age characteristics of the participants, which allowed them to successfully master complex topics and apply the acquired knowledge in practice.



Inspiration for comprehensive development

The second half of the day at the camp was devoted to training soft skills, communication skills and other developmental activities.

During the camp, an excursion to the IT concern "R-Pro" was organized, during which the children saw with their own eyes:

the process of offline programming of robots;
advantages of introducing robots into production;
what is digital engineering
The students were able to try out one of the company's projects. Using VR glasses, the children were transported to a production facility, where they were able to clearly see the use of industrial robotics.

In addition, throughout the entire camp shift, there were many interactive activities, intellectual games, and even a tournament in the computer game “Minecraft”.

In an atmosphere of creative search, the children worked out the possibilities of making non-standard decisions, while the curators noted an increase in the skill of mutual assistance and support in the team. Using the example of exciting, but rather complex exercises, the students learned to solve a common problem, develop tactics and strategy for solving it together.

Creating the Future of Security

Teaching school-aged children cybersecurity techniques and principles is a key step towards developing a safer digital world. Today, children practically live online, and knowing how to protect themselves and their data is an essential part of their education.

We would like to express our gratitude to the TOP Computer Academy for successful cooperation within the framework of the shift «Cyber. NET 2.0». This event became a bright example of successful partnership aimed at training and inspiring young talents.

Conclusion

It was important for us to introduce the kids to the basics of programming and cybersecurity within the framework of the IT camp, and to show them the prospects and opportunities for development that the IT industry offers.

It is gratifying to note that after completing a two-week shift (intensive course) at the TOP Computer Academy, many students wanted to continue their education in the IT field.
